We&#8217;ll be on the lookout for websites outside the country that approach themes related to urban experiences and issues in Toronto.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>&#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211; &#8211;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&bull; Electric cars may soon become the norm in France as the <a href=\"http:\/\/online.wsj.com\/article\/SB125439947906756021.html?mod=rss_whats_news_us\">government announced Thursday that it will commit \u00e2\u201a\u00ac1.5 billion towards the creation of a battery-charging network for electric vehicles<\/a>. In addition, the French government will make charging-stations mandatory in new apartment blocks in 2012 and in all office parking lots by 2015.<\/p>\n<p>&bull;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.laht.com\/article.asp?ArticleId=344949&amp;CategoryId=13003\" target=\"_self\"> An upcoming documentary by two Portuguese brothers, Mario and Pedro Patrocinio, promises to explore the multifaceted experience of living in Complexo do Alemao<\/a>, arguably the most dangerous &#8220;favela&#8221;  in Rio de Janeiro. According to the the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.laht.com\/article.asp?ArticleId=344949&amp;CategoryId=13003\" target=\"_self\">Latin American Herald Tribune<\/a>, the filmmakers discovered  an urban environment containing &#8220;sensitivity and strength&#8221; that  will challenge accepted notions about residents and daily life in the country&#8217;s infamous shantytowns.<\/p>\n<p>&bull; The recent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lasvegassun.com\/news\/2009\/oct\/05\/highways-need-help\/\" target=\"_self\">expiration of America&#8217;s federal transportation bill<\/a> has citizen activists mobilizing to <a href=\"http:\/\/t4america.org\/about\/\" target=\"_self\">fight for sustainable and community-driven transportation<\/a>.
