We&#8217;ll keep an eye open for topics and discussions that are pertinent to current public space issues in Toronto.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>&bull; The future of the contentious proposal to reconstruct Montreal&#8217;s Turcot interchange may be in doubt as<a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/author\/jacob\/\" target=\"_self\"> Spacing Montreal&#8217;s\u00a0Jacob Larsen<\/a> sees <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2009\/11\/07\/highways-health-and-the-economy-political-winds-on-the-turcot-may-be-changing\/\" target=\"_self\">signs of policy change at upper levels of government<\/a>. <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2009\/09\/16\/the-turcot-is-going-to-heat-up\/\" target=\"_self\">The plan<\/a>, which would see more than two hundred homes demolished and a capacity increase from 280 000 to 330 000 cars per day on the highway, <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2009\/11\/04\/turcot-activists-to-charest-be-coherent\/\" target=\"_self\">has elicited passionate (and mostly negative) reactions<\/a> ever since it was first proposed by Quebec&#8217;s Minist\u00e0\u00a8re de Transport.<\/p>\n<p>&bull;\u00a0 This week <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2009\/11\/05\/coups-de-coeur-uswms-ode-to-spruce-beer-hot-dogs-and-grimy-ol-times-along-the-laching-canal\/\" target=\"_self\">Spacing Montreal <\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2009\/11\/05\/coups-de-coeur-uswms-ode-to-spruce-beer-hot-dogs-and-grimy-ol-times-along-the-laching-canal\/\" target=\"_self\">announced the launch of the new &#8220;coups de coeur&#8221; column<\/a> &#8220;highlighting art, music, theater, film and literature that celebrate &#8211; and even create &#8211; this city and its neighbourhoods&#8221;.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/montreal\/2009\/11\/05\/coups-de-coeur-uswms-ode-to-spruce-beer-hot-dogs-and-grimy-ol-times-along-the-laching-canal\/\" target=\"_self\">The first post features a music video from<\/a> the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.uswm.ca\/\" target=\"_self\">United Steelworkers of Montreal<\/a>.
