True, $20 million isn&#8217;t going to buy us a new waterfront, but if nothing else, the five finalists have given us reason to dream.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p align=\"left\">As it has been for a while now, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towaterfront.ca\/fourthnavloader.php?first=3e9112548cd89&amp;second=3e9ba9dc309fc&amp;third=44219966916f8&amp;fourth=44231117127b8\">West 8<\/a> design proposal is leading in the polls, with <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towaterfront.ca\/fourthnavloader.php?first=3e9112548cd89&amp;second=3e9ba9dc309fc&amp;third=44219966916f8&amp;fourth=4423122b45b69\">P.O.R.T.<\/a> a close second. The winning entry is to be announced next Friday, so either go and  <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/static\/Specials\/design\/060512_waterfront_poll.html\">vote<\/a> on The Star&#8217;s site or skip the middleman and let the  Toronto Waterfront Revitilization Corporation know what you think <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towaterfront.ca\/contact.php\">here<\/a>. If you haven&#8217;t had a chance to view the displays in public, you can download the display panels <a href=\"http:\/\/www.towaterfront.ca\/thirdnavloader.php?first=3e9112548cd89&amp;second=3e9ba9dc309fc&amp;third=44219966916f8\">here<\/a> &#8211; just click on the name of the design team and download the pdf at the bottom of the page. I highly recommend checking out these files online before voting or giving feedback as the single pictures on The Star&#8217;s web page don&#8217;t do any of the designs much justice.<\/p>\n<p align=\"left\">\n<p align=\"left\">There&#8217;s also a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thestar.com\/NASApp\/cs\/ContentServer?pagename=thestar\/Layout\/Article_Type1&amp;c=Article&amp;cid=1148681732333&amp;call_pageid=968350130169&amp;col=969483202845\">short article<\/a> about the beginning of the construction at Union Station, which is considerably less positive than the first. The article criticizes the countless aborted starts and the beauracratic wrangling that have, to date, provided few results.
