UPBAG’s Soft City Workshop at the Riverdale Art Walk<\/strong>: \nSunday, June 4, 1-5 pm, Toronto Free Gallery (660 Queen Street East)<\/p>\n
The Soft City is an ongoing conceptual craft project in which participants work together to create an urban landscape out of felt and other materials. Started by the UPBAG Collective in 2004, the soft city of Upburg has expanded into dozens of skyscrapers, roads, houses, parks, stores, public transportation vehicles, and even its own suburban outgrowth.<\/p>\n
Participate in the creation of this soft city, June 4th, 1-5pm. Propose, design & sew (with the help of UPBAG) new buildings to fill the city’s empty spaces.<\/p>\n
UPBAG (Upper Parkdale Benevolent Art Guild) is a collective of artists and crafters that was formed in 2004 by a group of friends who wanted to work together on a project. Its current members are Catherine Stinson, Jason Van Horne, Rose Bianchini, Sarah Couture McPhail, and Yvonne Ng.<\/p>\n
