{"id":853,"date":"2006-06-07T09:31:15","date_gmt":"2006-06-07T13:31:15","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spacingtoronto.ca\/?p=853"},"modified":"2006-06-07T09:42:41","modified_gmt":"2006-06-07T13:42:41","slug":"social-street-furniture","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/2006\/06\/07\/social-street-furniture\/","title":{"rendered":"Social Street Furniture"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" align=\"right\" alt=\"bike stand\" src=\"http:\/\/www.heklucht.nl\/hek1.jpg\" \/>With the growing popularity of bicycles we are seeing a rejuvenation in <a href=\"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/toronto\/?p=757\">bicycle support design<\/a> such as the car shaped bike rack by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.inoutdesigners.ch\/pages\/projects\/config_01\/vd_003.html\">Adrian Rovero<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As Toronto struggles with profiting from its <a href=\"http:\/\/publicspace.ca\/sidewalksale.htm\">street furniture policies<\/a> Netherlands based design studio <a href=\"http:\/\/www.himom.jp\/\">Himom<\/a>, the team of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jeroenbruls.com\/portfolio\/\">Jeroen Bruls<\/a> and<a href=\"http:\/\/www.krijnchristiaansen.nl\/\"> Krijn Christiaansen<\/a>, have reasserted the role of street furniture as a social space.
