Bowness wrote:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>BENCHmark coordinator Jessica Tudos [says] that public art is a good way to revitalize the neighbourhood, and notes that these benches are the first real examples of public art in the area.<\/p>\n<p>As well, they&#8217;re the first really deliberate \u00e2\u20ac\u0153congregation spots\u00e2\u20ac\u009d where people are encouraged to stop, hang out, and contemplate their neighbourhood. \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Public art,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d says Tudos, \u00e2\u20ac\u0153is an opportunity to enhance the experience one has of walking through a space.
