He has recently launched a new practice, <a title=\"TODERIAN UrbanWORKS \" href=\"http:\/\/www.toderianurbanworks.com\/\">Toderian UrbanWORKS<\/a>. Brent is a national and international writer, speaker, teacher and collaborator on issued of advanced urbanism.<\/p>\n<h4>Ray Spaxman<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a title=\"Spaxman Consulting Group Ltd\" href=\"http:\/\/www.spaxman.com\/home.html\">Ray Spaxman<\/a>, planner and urban designer, has over 30 years of intense international planning and design experience. As a practicing architect and planner in England, city planner in Toronto and Vancouver, Ray has built his reputation for creative and innovative approaches to complex problems, and a commitment to a consultative approach. Ray has lectured internationally on planning and urban design, is a Fellow of the Canadian Institute of Planners, and has received several awards for his outstanding contributions to Canadian planning.<\/p>\n<h4>Professor Larry Beasley<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Larry Beasley is the retired Director of Planning for the City of Vancouver. He is now the &#8220;<a title=\"LARRY BEASLEY\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scarp.ubc.ca\/profiles\/faculty\/Larry%20Beasley\">Distinguished Practice Professor of Planning<\/a>&#8221; at the University of British Columbia and the founding principal of Beasley and Associates, an international planning consultancy. He is also VP Planning at Aquilini Development. Larry is a Member of the Order of Canada, the nation&#8217;s highest honour for lifetime achievement.<\/p>\n<h4>Event Moderator: Jay Wollenberg<\/h4>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Jay Wollenberg has been a planning and development consultant in BC for over 35 years. He has been President of the Planning Institute of BC and the Canadian Institute of Planners. He is an <a title=\"Jay Wollenberg \" href=\"http:\/\/scarp.ubc.ca\/profiles\/faculty\/Jay%20Wollenberg\">Adjunct Professor<\/a> in the University of British Columbia School of Community and Regional Planning where he teaches a graduate course in market and financial analysis for development projects.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0***<\/p>\n<h2>About The City in 2050: Creating Blueprints for Change<\/h2>\n<p><a title=\"The City in 2050 Initiative\" href=\"http:\/\/www.uli.org\/ResearchAndPublications\/Inititatives\/City2050.aspx\">The City in 2050: Creating Blueprints for Change<\/a> is an on-going event series designed to examine the needs of the people, places and policies that will influence development in British Columbia now and into the future.
