The Aldergrove Pool Committee is working hard at attaining community support to push Township council’s to approve a plan to construct a community recreation facility<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The summer is treating mayors and councillors who sit on Metro Vancouver’s board or its committees well, as they are enjoying a nearly five per cent increase in the meeting fees they collect<\/a>. They are currently paid $346 for every meeting they attend\u2014up from $330 in 2011 and $322 in 2010. The fees double if a meeting exceeds four hours.<\/p>\n

BC Lottery Corporation officials appears to have calmed fears of Cloverdale business leaders<\/a> that a proposed South Surrey casino would negatively impact existing gaming business by providing assurances the planned casino would not offer competition to Cloverdale\u2019s Fraser Downs Racetrack and Casino.<\/p>\n
