Metro staff is expected to\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/technology\/Metro+Vancouver+expands+hunt+companies+that+turn+waste+energy\/7305001\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">deliver a report next month outlining a revised procurement process<\/a> for one or more waste-to-energy facilities capable of processing at least 370,000 tonnes of trash per year.<\/p>\n<p>Metro Vancouver is asking the Township of Langley to\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.surreyleader.com\/news\/171017921.html\" target=\"_blank\">shelve the plan to develop a huge university district on farmland<\/a> until it submits it for formal board approval, citing that it&#8217;s not currently allowed under the new Regional Growth Strategy.<\/p>\n<p>An <a href=\"http:\/\/www.surreyleader.com\/news\/170756456.html\" target=\"_blank\">energy efficiency project that is expected to generate large cost savings for the Delta School District<\/a> will break ground at Neilson Grove Elementary on Oct. 1. It is one of 11 buildings in the district ready to undergo a $6.4 million geoexchange system upgrade including pipes that are to be installed under the playing fields to provide heating and cooling to the schools.<\/p>\n<p>There seems to be a renewed interest by Campbell River\u2019s Willow Point Lions Club\u2019s to get their\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bclocalnews.com\/news\/171601591.html\" target=\"_blank\">Willow Point Lions Community Hall on the city\u2019s Heritage Register<\/a>. Tom McKenzie has been spearheading a campaign to obtain heritage status for the\u00a0 for more than a year given that the building has a rich history and it holds a significant place in communities storied past.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bclocalnews.com\/news\/171620721.html\" target=\"_blank\">Modo will be setting up camp in Richmond<\/a> potentially as early as October.
