Every block in downtown Vancouver has an associated number. The block bounded by Robson, Howe, Hornby and Georgia is known as Block 51. Two important consultations are taking place on this block: 800-block Robson Street and the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza.<\/p>\n

Tell Us What you Think! Get Involved!<\/p>\n

We want to hear from you. Join us at two public events to explore the history and importance of this block. Learn about innovative public spaces from other cities and offer your thoughts on what future uses 800-block Robson and the Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza can accommodate. Your participation will help shape the future of this central area, and your ideas will be brought to City Council this fall and given to the designer for the North Plaza.<\/p>\n

15 October 2012 – A Look Back<\/strong><\/p>\n

\n750 Hornby Street<\/em><\/p>\n

The 1973 National Film Board film “Chairs for Lovers” and a panel with members of the original team for Robson Square will set the context of how this block came to be.<\/p>\n

17 October 2012 – A Look Forward<\/strong><\/p>\n

Vancouver Art Gallery, 7:00-10:00 p.m.<\/em>
\n750 Hornby Street<\/em><\/p>\n

Short and inspirational presentations will look at how this block has been used over the last few years and draw on inspiration from other cities.<\/p>\n

Both events will end with an illustrated brainstorming exercise that will collect ideas on what type of future uses are desired.<\/p>\n

Register for one of these two free events hosted in partnership by the Vancouver Art Gallery and Spacing Magazine.<\/p>\n
