Image courtesy of it caught my eye.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2360\" title=\"NeighbourhoodWatch_logo\" src=\"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/network\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/6\/NeighbourhoodWatch_logo.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"72\" \/><br \/>\n<em>A weekly roundup of noteworthy news in municipalities across B.C.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/entertainment\/High+tech+high+school+unveiled+North+Vancouver\/7384471\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">new $38-million Carson Graham secondary school<\/a> was unveiled this week in North Vancouver.\u00a0 Built to LEED Gold standards, the school is part of the international baccalaureate program and houses a number of functions including a robotics and pre-engineering lab, computer animation design facilities \u2014 \u201c$150,000 worth of software\u201d \u2014 a professional teaching kitchen, computer labs and state-of-the-art audiovisual and data systems for classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>The requirements bidders interested in building the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.surreyleader.com\/news\/173928481.html\" target=\"_blank\">new waste-to-energy plant for Metro Vancouver<\/a> has been made public and include having recently operated a reference plant somewhere in the world where they can prove their technology processes at least 25,000 tonnes per year of municipal garbage.<\/p>\n<p>Look out 18 West Hastings, a new microloft seems to be on the horizon! If city council gives the OK to a new housing project at the corner of Whalley Boulevard and Grosvenor Road, Surrey will be the new home to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/business\/Surrey+consider+Micro+suites\/7394005\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Canada&#8217;s smallest condominium<\/a>, measuring 290-square-foot. It will be part of 56 tiny condos inside a four-storey wood frame building by developer Tien Sher. Thirty-three of the suites will be 305 square feet or smaller and the largest will be a 653 square foot single bedroom condo priced under $180,000.<\/p>\n<p>More than 270\u00a0Chilliwack residents have already requested to take home a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bclocalnews.com\/news\/174667191.html\" target=\"_blank\">piece of the old Paramount Theatre<\/a>. City officials are offering the theatre seats in groups of four, to be given away in a lottery.<\/p>\n<p>Great news for First Nations people, local historians and archeology buffs as<a href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/technology\/Ancient+village+along+river+reveals+1300+years+First+Nations\/7415957\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\"> an ancient village sitting along the banks of B.C.&#8217;s Babine River<\/a> that may have been used as a crossroad for First Nations dating back more than 1,300 years is finally being excavated.
