The preventative program is called Glow As You Go and is a safety campaign in light of a number of pedestrian-vehicle collisions in the region this winter.<\/p>\n<p>Delta council pushed the Port Metro Vancouver environmental report on the\u00a0$200-million, three-year Deltaport Terminal Road and Rail Improvement Project forward, but not before <a href=\"http:\/\/www.surreyleader.com\/news\/186395101.html\" target=\"_blank\">publicly voicing some concerns<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Excitement is growing in Kitimat\u2014the northwest British Columbia town cited by Census Canada in March, 2007 as the community with the greatest population decline in the country\u2014in the hopes that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theglobeandmail.com\/news\/british-columbia\/lng-plans-lift-kitimat-from-doom-town-to-boom-town\/article7310536\/?cmpid=rss1\" target=\"_blank\">multi-billion-dollar investments<\/a> in proposed liquefied natural gas projects, aluminum smelter upgrades and the Northern Gateway pipeline will lift the municipality out of its rut.<\/p>\n<p>Congratulations to City of Langley mayor Peter Fassbender who is to be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bclocalnews.com\/news\/186508981.html\" target=\"_blank\">honoured with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal<\/a> in Ontario later this month for his work with World Vision Canada.<\/p>\n<p>Looks like Ladysmith will be <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bclocalnews.com\/news\/186873392.html\" target=\"_blank\">joining the Cowichan Valley Regional Transit System<\/a> in the fall with B.C.
