The Vancouver\u00a0Heritage\u00a0Foundation is partnering with the folks at Church at the\u00a0Hollywood\u00a0this three night mini-film fest will feature four short films that explore an aspect of mid-century\u00a0Vancouver. From Neon to West Coast Architecture to the budding days of the West End this by donation event gives Vancouverites an in-depth look at\u00a0Vancouver\u00a0as it was.\u00a0Entry and Concession are both by donation and there will be time after each film for discussion and debate with a different host each night.<\/p>\n

Tuesday January 29th – Glowing in the Dark<\/em> (1994)<\/h3>\n

A look at neon in Vancouver, Las Vegas and LA. Produced by Alan Goldman with Cari Green + Directed by Harry Killas. Screening followed by Q&A led by John Atkin and Alan Goldman<\/p>\n

Tuesday February 12th – Coast Modern<\/em> (2012)<\/h3>\n

Showcases the pioneers of West Coast Modernist Architecture, and the homes that have become their legacies. Stepping inside the most inspired dwellings on the west coast, we feel how the light and space of a classic Modernist home can work in collaboration with the natural environment. Directed by Mike Bernard + Gavin Froome. Screening followed by an open discussion with the directors<\/p>\n

Tuesday February 26th – CBC Archival Film Program\u00a0Takes a look back at Vancouver in the 60s.<\/em><\/h3>\n

They\u2019ll be showing West End \u201866 <\/b>and A City\u2019s Story<\/b>, two half hour shorts that cruise through city neighbourhoods and the downtown by night and day. Screenings with open discussion after each film.<\/p>\n
