(<strong>Maple Ridge<\/strong>)<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s just a first draft, but <strong>Port Moody<\/strong>&#8216;s official community plan update had some on council wondering whether it spells <a title=\"Port Moody council wrestles with post-Evergreen vision\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tricitynews.com\/news\/198195341.html\">the beginning of the end of the city&#8217;s small-town character<\/a>.\u00a0The OCP update has been in the works for the better part of a year, since construction on the Evergreen Line was confirmed, with the majority of changes planned for neighbourhoods along the route and around the two stations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nanaimo<\/strong> residents will have the benefit of social media to engage city council with questions, concerns or comments on how tax dollars are spent as the city embarks on hosting its <a title=\"City to host first e-town hall budget meeting\" href=\"http:\/\/www.nanaimobulletin.com\/news\/197810221.html\">first e-Town Hall Budget meeting<\/a>. \u00a0Scheduled for March 25 at 7 p.m., the beginning of a regularly scheduled council meeting, council and staff will take financial plan questions live through Twitter, Facebook and phone calls.<\/p>\n<p>A <a title=\"Sicamous residents suggest BC Transit study include Revelstoke and Vernon\" href=\"http:\/\/www.eaglevalleynews.com\/news\/197686321.html\">BC Transit feasibility study<\/a> into a potential system for the <strong>Sicamous<\/strong> area may need to be expanded to include <strong>Revelstoke<\/strong> and <strong>Enderby<\/strong>.\u00a0The study is being done in partnership with the Columbia Shuswap Regional District and the District of Sicamous. Its goal, according to BC Transit, is to explore the sustainability of a system that would connect Sicamous, and potentially Malakwa and Swansea Point, to the Shuswap Regional Transit System.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Street closures produce debate\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pqbnews.com\/news\/198035991.html\">Festivals, art shows, markets, craft fairs \u2014 they bring &#8220;energy&#8221;<\/a> to downtown <strong>Qualicum Beach<\/strong> and there&#8217;s no need to set up a town-hall-driven process to co-ordinate them, says Mary Brouilette.\u00a0The town councillor as responding to a letter from Evelyn Clark, the executive director of the Qualicum Beach Chamber of Commerce, asking the town to &#8220;consider the creation of a formal review process&#8221; to deal with requests to close streets and take up parking spots and green spaces.<\/p>\n<p>***<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-size: small;\">A selected image from the Spacing Vancouver Flickr pool.
