Earlier this month, more than 65 people attended a workshop to begin the discussion on a local food strategy that includes food security, developing local food systems, encouraging partnerships in food distribution and ensuring access to nutritious food for all of Nanaimo&#8217;s citizens.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"Pedestrian and trail plans map out City priorities\" href=\"http:\/\/www.kamloopsnews.ca\/article\/20130327\/KAMLOOPS0101\/130329898\/-1\/kamloops0101\/pedestrian-and-trail-plans-map-out-city-priorities\">Walkers, hikers and cyclists in Kamloops now have a plan<\/a>. Two plans, actually.\u00a0City council gave the final nod Tuesday to the pedestrian and the trails master plans, which set out proposed networks throughout <strong>Kamloops<\/strong>.\u00a0City transportation planner Erin Felker said the goal is to create cohesive networks and prioritize trails and walkways for future construction.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Richmond<\/strong> is the latest city in Metro Vancouver to <a title=\"Richmond staff report recommends $59-million \u2018destination museum\u2019\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vancouversun.com\/travel\/Richmond+staff+report+recommends+million+destination+museum\/8161710\/story.html#.UVSRDjEMkVU.twitter\">push forward with cultural centre expansions<\/a> \u2014 and this one is a \u201cdestination museum\u201d with a $59-million price tag.\u00a0A proposal to move the Richmond Museum from its current home in the Richmond Cultural Centre was laid out in a staff report presented to the parks, recreation and culture committee meeting Tuesday.
