Vancouver Heritage Foundation is very excited to offer guided bike tours. Expanding on or already popular walking tours, our guides are saddling up to take you on a ride through our bike-friendly city and talk history while you\u2019re at it! Our inaugural season includes two different tours\u00a0 to inspire a range of cycling enthusiasts.<\/p>\n

\"121023<\/a>May 25 – Places That Matter Bike Tour<\/strong>
\nIntermediate Cyclists<\/p>\n

Meet at 999 Canada Place, by the Info Booth<\/p>\n

Join John Atkin on a bike tour that celebrates the ongoing Places That Matter plaque project <\/a>which celebrates 125 previously unrecognized sites nominated by Vancouverites. See and hear about plaques that have already been installed around the city since 2011, and then stop midway to take in the Nellie Yip Quong House<\/a> plaque presentation live! The tour starts at Canada Place and will travel bike lanes to reach Strathcona, False Creek, and Fairview Slopes, heading over the Burrard Street Bridge, before concluding at Robson Square.<\/p>\n

Meet at Devonian Park, SW corner of Georgia and Denman<\/p>\n

Vancouver\u2019s urban forest holds a complex history of destroyed First Nations villages and squatters\u2019 cabins, military unrest and forgotten burial places, British enclaves, sports and cultural venues, and of course, renowned natural endowments, some more recent than you might think. Due to its natural popularity, Stanley Park has become an engineered landscape, with many tourist draws such as the totems, blow-down amusement parks, and preserved reminders of the raw force of nature. Join Maurice Guibord on a leisurely paced cycle while digging into the storms and controversies that have formed this majestic park.<\/p>\n
