The campaign&#8217;s goal is to remind cyclists that when they&#8217;re out and about, the rules of the road apply equally to bicycles and cars.<\/p>\n<p>An oft-repeated claim about the impressively high number of restaurants in <strong>Victoria<\/strong> is nothing more than a <a title=\"Victoria's claim to fame on restaurant numbers an urban myth, says expert\" href=\"http:\/\/www.vicnews.com\/business\/217964361.html\">30-year-old urban myth<\/a>, says the former president of the local restaurant association.\u00a0The data to back up that claim doesn\u2019t exist, said Frank Bourree, principal of Chemistry Consulting Group and former president of Victoria\u2019s Restaurant and Foodservices Association.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGrowing A Food Movement\u201d\u00a0in <strong>Campbell River<\/strong> has begun.\u00a0The three small commercial farms now growing produce within our municipal boundaries are the<a title=\"URBAN GARDENER: Visionary urban farmers leading a movement\" href=\"http:\/\/www.campbellrivermirror.com\/opinion\/218004281.html\"> forerunners of a local sustainable food movement<\/a>. They are the first players in a visionary plan laid out by the Agriculture Advisory Steering Committee.<\/p>\n<p>Three cities that neighbour <strong>Coquitlam<\/strong> say they want to see the municipality <a href=\"http:\/\/www.tricitynews.com\/news\/217993351.html\">get a better handle on its future traffic <\/a>as it prepares its regional growth plan.<\/p>\n<p>While it is commonly used for overflow parking, the City of <strong>Penticton<\/strong> has plans to <a title=\"Penticton planning new park\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pentictonwesternnews.com\/news\/218023201.html\">turn a spit of land separating the marina from the beach area along Marina Way into the city\u2019s latest park<\/a>.\u00a0Dubbed the Marina Way Lookout, the city considers the spit an environmentally sensitive area, and has restoration plans including planting more than 20 trees and 300 shrubs indigenous to the area while removing undesirable and invasive plants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A weekly roundup of noteworthy news in municipalities across B.C.
