Travel through time with the H.R. MacMillan Space Centre as our team recreates images of William J. Moore’s early panoramic photographs in a digital blend of Vancouver today and the early 1900s.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
In collaboration with the City of Vancouver Archives, we present a two-part speaker series by local historians John Atkin and Michael Kluckner.<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
Experience Moore’s turn of the century panoramic photographs of Vancouver as they were meant to be seen. For the first time, the Space Centre will reveal with its new digital planetarium projection system the incredible details of early Vancouver in a full immersion environment.\u00a0 Moore’s images, taken by a No. 8 Cirkut Outfit camera, were originally digitized by the Vancouver Archives from 8-foot-long negatives.<\/div>\n

In part one, Atkin takes us on a digital walking tour of Downtown Vancouver, Mount Pleasant and Burrard Inlet. In part two, Kluckner focuses on Kerrisdale, False Creek and Granville Island. Experience the incredible transformation of Vancouver’s yesteryears into the 21st Century.<\/div>\n
