However, while the number of visitors and special events in Deep Cove continues to increase, the community&#8217;s capacity to accommodate those visitors remains unchanged.<\/p>\n<p>A made-in-Deep-Cove implementation plan \u2014 developed through a collaborative engagement process with affected stakeholders \u2014\u00a0is required to address parking and access issues.<\/p>\n<h2>Get involved with the plan: Join a half-day dialogue session<\/h2>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\" alignleft\" src=\"http:\/\/dnv.org\/upload\/images\/deep-cover-bubble-sm.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/>We are holding a half-day community dialogue to create space for participants to explore the detailed issues, co-create solutions and provide feedback on preferences for an implementation plan that District staff will present to Council.<\/p>\n<p>The session will be independently designed and moderated by Simon Fraser University\u2019s Centre for Dialogue under the sponsorship of the District of North Vancouver.<\/p>\n<p>In March, SFU&#8217;s Centre for Dialogue will publish the results of this session. This report will form the basis for an implementation plan that staff will submit to Council for approval in the spring of 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Where a choice must be made between different solutions presented at the community dialogue, we will consider the solutions\u2019 support among stakeholder groups, principles for decision-making that participants propose at the dialogue, and standard District decision-making criteria that will be provided to participants in advance of the session (e.g. impact on parking problem, cost, timeframe, feasibility).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h2>Background<\/h2>\n<p><strong>November 24, 2014 &#8211; <\/strong>After hearing from concerned residents, we completed a technical study, met with residents and businesses, and conducted a public opinion survey. The study provided us with technical data regarding traffic and parking around the Cove. The public opinion survey allowed us to dig deeper regarding people\u2019s concerns and frustrations.
