Join the South Coast Conservation Program<\/a> as we <\/span>explore Species and Ecosystems at Risk (SEAR)<\/a>within the context of policy, recovery and land <\/span>use management and planning.\u00a0This is the first in a series of SCCP webinars focusing on SEAR conservation, stewardship and regulatory challenges, working from a national to local context.<\/u><\/u><\/span><\/p>\n

Presenters:\u00a0<\/b>
\nLynn Campbell<\/a><\/i> <\/b>(Species and Ecosystems Risk Biologist, Ministry of Environment and SEAR LGWG Facilitator) will provide the provincial context for SEAR protection and an update on the SEAR Local Government Working Group (LGWG).<\/span><\/p>\n

Danielle Prevost<\/a><\/i> (Conservation Project Developer, Canadian Wildlife Service\/Environment Canada) will outline the federal context, focusing on the Species at Risk Act and how partnerships are helping species at risk to survive and recover.<\/p>\n

Janice Walton<\/i><\/a> (Counsel, Blakes law firm) will expand on the Canadian legislative context by highlighting implications and recovery responsibilities.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n

Who should participate: <\/b>Land use decision makers and professional practitioners, conservation organizations, developers, and municipal\/regional district staff involved in land use planning, urban development policy and permitting, and\/or conservation planning.\u00a0<\/u><\/u><\/p>\n
