{"id":29631,"date":"2017-02-22T13:19:47","date_gmt":"2017-02-22T21:19:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spacing.ca\/vancouver?p=29631&#038;preview=true&#038;preview_id=29631"},"modified":"2017-02-22T13:19:47","modified_gmt":"2017-02-22T21:19:47","slug":"release-full-tea-history-early-farmers-bc-london-heritage-farm","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/spacing.ca\/vancouver\/2017\/02\/22\/release-full-tea-history-early-farmers-bc-london-heritage-farm\/","title":{"rendered":"Release: Full-Tea and History of early Farmers in BC at London Heritage Farm"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With Canada celebrating its <a href=\"http:\/\/canada.pch.gc.ca\/eng\/1468854891549\">150th birthday<\/a>&nbsp;this year, heritage sites are an resourceful way to discover and revive the history of early settlement life in Canada.&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/londonheritagefarm.ca\/\">London Heritage Farm<\/a>&nbsp;is a historical site facing the Fraser River in Steveston, Richmond.&nbsp;It is run by the <em>London Heritage Society<\/em>, whose ongoing work proves that BC\u2019s physical history is inherently sustainable.<\/p>\n<p>The 1.6-hectare-site showcases life of early farmers from the 1880s to the late 1920s.&nbsp;Open to the public, visitors can stroll along the colourful heritage garden, the fragrant memorial rose garden and learn about turn-of-the-century farming tool and equipment displayed on the west lawn.&nbsp;The south lawn that features a gazebo is a popular venue for weddings and picnics.<\/p>\n<p>At the core of the site is the former farmhouse that was built by the London Family, who moved from Ontario to Richmond in the late 1870s.
