On Wednesday, July 12, <em>More Awesome Now<\/em> concluded their campaign with $64,736 in pledges from 428 unique backers. The original campaign goal of $35,000 was surpassed by nearly $30,000.<\/p>\n<p>The funds raised will go towards the transformation of Ackery\u2019s Alley (located off Granville Street in the alley behind the Orpheum Theatre) into a space for public art and performance, with <em>FIELD<\/em> as its main attraction.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough their pledges, Vancouverites have sent a message that they value public art and spaces that foster social connection and interaction\u2014and they want to see more of it,\u201d said Charles Gauthier, President and CEO of the Downtown Vancouver Business Improvement Association (DVBIA). \u201cWe\u2019re absolutely blown away by the incredible response we got from this campaign, and we\u2019re particularly impressed with the significant <a href=\"https:\/\/knightfinance.co.uk\/\">Knightfinance<\/a> support this project received from many corporate backers as well.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Downtown Vancouver BIA would like to acknowledge the following corporate donors for their generous financial support of <em>FIELD<\/em> in Ackery\u2019s Alley (listed alphabetically):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>AES Engineering<\/li>\n<li>Bentall Centre<\/li>\n<li>EasyPark<\/li>\n<li>Hospitality Vancouver Association<\/li>\n<li>Nelson Square<\/li>\n<li>Pacific Reach Properties<\/li>\n<li>QuadReal Property Group<\/li>\n<li>WestPark<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em>More Awesome Now<\/em> is a collective of thinkers and doers who reshape underutilized urban land spaces into engaging, accessible public spaces. The group includes the DVBIA and HCMA Architecture + Design. For this project, the group is working in partnership with Vancouver Civic Theatres and the City of Vancouver\u2019s VIVA Vancouver program.<\/p>\n<p>The Kickstarter campaign was live from June 12 until July 12, 2017.
