The Children\u2019s Farmyard in Stanley Park was closed last January when Vancouver\u2019s park board decided it was best to invest the city\u2019s $160,000 subsidy elsewhere. Now municipal political parties are arguing over that decision and what to do next.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nsnews.com\/news\/West+Vancouver+pedestrians+cars+tickets\/5411543\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">West Vancouver pedestrians hit by cars, then tickets<\/a>. In two separate incidents, female pedestrians in West Vancouver were hit by passing motorists. Luckily, both women suffered only minor injuries. Unluckily both were issued tickets by the police for traffic violations.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mrtimes.com\/news\/Neighbours+work+change\/5428635\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">Neighbourhood unites for change<\/a>. In Maple Ridge\u2019s Port Haney neighbourhood, residents have started the Port Haney Neighbourhood Change Initiative as a means of uniting the region to explore positive solutions to improve the quality of life in the area.<\/p>\n<p>Saanich, CRD agree on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.timescolonist.com\/business\/Saanich+agree+multi+million+dollar+land+swap+near+UVic\/5416418\/story.html\" target=\"_blank\">multi-million dollar land swap<\/a> near UVic. Sannich and the Capital Regional District have tentatively agreed on a multi-million dollar land swap that will see about 7.3 hectares of Haro Woods forest protected as park land.<\/p>\n<p>Parkade opponents gather 4,616 signatures. In Kamloops, a residents\u2019 group continues to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bclocalnews.com\/bc_thompson_nicola\/kamloopsthisweek\/news\/130212013.html\" target=\"_blank\">gather public support to halt the development of the Lorne Street parkade<\/a> near Riverside Park.
