Earth Day\u00ae<\/sup> Scavenger Hunt to Showcase the Green Side of Vancouver<\/em><\/p>\n

Saturday, April 21, 2012 | Race 11am\u20132pm | Awards 2pm\u20134pm<\/strong>
\nRegistration: $30 before March 21, $40 after<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0In Evergreen BC\u2019s Green City Race, teams will race against the clock, (and each other!), as they put their physical, mental, and environmental savvy to the test.\u00a0 Using public transit and their own two feet, teams will explore Vancouver\u2019s hottest green destinations, complete green challenges, scour for green scavenger hunt items, and snap photos of \u2018green sightings\u2019 for bonus points.<\/p>\n

The race will begin at 11am at Evergreen\u2019s mobile urban orchard at the Great Northern Way Campus. Each team of two or three will be given a set of clues that they will need to solve to move from one location to the next.\u00a0 To win, teams will need to quickly complete challenges like removing invasive species, snapping photos of electric car charging stations, and leaving thank you tags on bicycle handle bars! Winning teams will be awarded a variety of green prizes at the post-race party at the W2 Media Caf\u00e9 from 2-4pm.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe wanted to celebrate Earth Day in a novel way\u201d says Jessica Lax, Evergreen BC\u2019s Regional Manager. \u201cWe want to get people out into their city, to learn about the exciting green things that are happening, and have a lot of fun while doing it.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tickets for the Green City Race are $30 before March 21st<\/sup> and $40 afterwards<\/strong>.\u00a0 All proceeds from the race support Evergreen\u2019s community programs to green our city. Teams can register at: www.evergreen.ca\/greencityrace<\/a>.<\/p>\n
