The Details of the TTC

I've been riding Toronto's transit regularly for the better part of a decade. During this time, I've come to know the TTC system like a long-time companion (or foe, depending on the day). While there is no denying that delays and poorly-serviced routes can turn me (or any transit rider) into a grown-up brat, it's during these long stretches of waiting that I've come to appreciate some of the smaller details of the city's bus terminals, platforms, and subway stations.

The walls, floors, and garbage cans are so familiar that it is easy to take for granted the artistry and skill that went into the production of these structures.

What follows are some up-close details of the beautifully understated tile-work and design throughout Toronto's transit system.
