An increasing number of cities are engaging their citizens in the budgeting process. Even so, many participatory budgeting initiatives present citizens with abstract choices and ask them to prioritize. OpenSpending.mobi – a public service delivery app tries to engage the public in a more tangible way. The mobile application allows users to ask questions about how their money was spent in a particular location, rate and submit feedback on a nearby public service, suggest location-based allocations of public funds, and enhance the transparency of public procurement.
