HALIFAX REGIONAL MUNICIPALITY – Obviously, the city needs more bike racks and with all the exciting hype around cycling infrastructure in HRM (surveys and consultations), the city will likely need more bicycle parking. If you could park your bike – not on a fence, not on a parking meter, not on a tree – where would you park it? Submit your creative and/or functional bike rack ideas to the Sustainable Environment Management Offices’ (SEMO) HRM bike rack design competition to help beautify the city with monumental bicycle art.
The competition is open to the public and there is no cost to enter. The winning design will be selected by a panel that will consider creativity, artistic value, functionality and use of sustainable material.
SEMO will accept submissions until 3 p.m. on April 4, 2011.
Visit HRM Bike Rack Design Competition, for all contest details including how and where to submit your design.
For questions about the competition, please email or call Lauralee Sim (siml@halifax.ca, 490-3665).
