Actually, those people are on the south side of Jean-Talon, thus in la Petite Patrie. And the north side of Jean-Talon is in Villeray there, not Parc-Ex.
The city actually has been rather scandalously eating away at each end of Villeray; I think they now consider anything west of St-Dominique to be Parc-Ex, but nobody living in Villeray does. The historic boundary is the railway line (between JTM and Loblaws).
