Your montages du jour make me so sad for the beautiful buildings that have been torn down in Montreal.
I cannot say that many, if any, of the city-scapes that have replaced our architectural heritage are any improvement. Mostly they are depressing examples of a kind of embarassed “erasure”. What was the driving force behind the embarassment of riches that were destroyed? Trying to erase the English influence?
Can anyone say that an empty road and an empty parking lot are an improvement over the loss of this building?
