WHERE? Steps of the Redpath Museum
HOW MUCH $10 adults, $5 students
The longest days of the year are upon us, so what better way to celebrate that than with an evening tour of McGill University’s trees? Bronwyn Chester — whom I wrote about not too long ago — will be offering two tours this week, one in French, the other in English.
Revered for their size, beauty, wood, healing powers, fruit and flame, certain trees have played important roles in the mythologies of many a human civilization. McGill University has the good fortune to be home to many such trees. On the eve of the summer solstice, come hear the stories of the ginkgo, yellow-wood, catalpa and company as we explore the grounds of the upper campus.
The tours will take place on Wednesday and Thursday from 5pm to 7pm. Call 514 284 7384 or email bronwynchester@gmail.com for more information.
