I think this is a rare chrysler corp product that had the back end of one US model and the front end of another US model creating special-for-the-cdn-market model.
That looks like that taxi cab of the guy from Montreal who broke the record for most miles logged by one taxi cab. I remember it was a few years ago and he crashed it after he broke the record.
It’s a 1960 or 61 Plymouth Valiant, though the front end looks like a Studebaker Lark. Canadian Dodge models, up to the early 1960s, had US Dodge front ends grafted on to Plymouth bodies.
This car’s more likely a 1961 or’62 Plymouth Valiant Signet. the Valiants of this era were quite famous for having a pushbutton automatic transmission & introducing the indestructable slant six engine, the Valiant was also part of the then new compact car craze at the time along with the Ford Falcon & Chevrolet Corvair, as for Peters comment about this car possibly being the famous worlds record taxi cab, sorry the taxi was a 1963 Plymouth Savoy,a mid- sized car. as for the ’63 Plymouth taxicab I saw it once on rue Atwater back around 1998.
It’s nice to see that the classic car fad is as alive in Verdun as it is here in St. Stephen, New Brunswick.
