It’s been a little over a year since Spacing Montreal was officially launched. Since then, our readership has grown quickly, to nearly 2,000 unique visitors per day, and we’ve tackled a number of topics that were under-represented or absent in Montreal’s media. Soon, though, a number of Spacing contributors will move on: Thomas Bernard-Kenniff is leaving for London, Christopher DeWolf is moving to Hong Kong and Misha Warbanski has already left for Whitehorse. We need new people to fill their shoes.
Spacing Montreal is dedicated to covering all aspects of public space and public life in Montreal. That includes architecture, urbanism, design, art, history, transportation, politics and social issues. We’re looking for contributors who are passionate and curious about their city, who enjoy discovering the quirks of its streets and history, and who are looking for a way to express for their interest. We’re especially keen on people who would be interested in covering specific beats: City Hall, history, architecture, cycling and so forth. Since Spacing Montreal does not generate any revenue, we don’t offer any monetary compensation, but we like to think that being part of a collaborative effort to generate interest in Montreal’s urban environment is reward enough.
Interested? Email us at spacingmontreal@spacing.ca with a brief note about yourself, some writing samples (such as clippings or a link to your blog) and a few topics you’d like to address on Spacing.

I am very sorry to hear that Chris DeWolf, in particular, is leaving. He’s an outstanding writer and his articles have been a huge part of what draws me — and I’m sure the other readers — to this blog, everyday.
That said, everyone’s new locales sound wonderfully exciting, and I wish you all the best.
I really appreciate the comment, Shawn. Don’t worry, though — I’ll still be posting about Montreal from Hong Kong, just not as often.
