Chair artfully suspended above the Ville-Maire Expressway at rue du Fort. According to the Canadian Centre for Architecture, who created and maintain the public garden in which this sculpture stands, “The CCA Garden restores the urban fabric of an area deeply scarred by mid-20th-century highway engineering.”

I used to live on St.-Marc between Tupper and Baile. I liked this park a lot, with the streams of traffic entering and exiting the Autoroute around the green space. However, I remember the CCA being somewhat unimpressive, except for the collection of die-cast souvenir models.
Also, has anyone else noticed that the St.-Marc tunnel is much cleaner than the tunnel on du Fort? I found this strange, but I wondered if it was because of the angled entrance at the upper end of the du Fort tunnel, which made a hiding place of sorts.
After I moved out of this neighbourhood (2003), I heard that it became seedy, with a lot of drug deals going on. Or maybe that was just Gazette sensationalism..
