Cette résidence construite en 1853 fut passablement transformé vers la fin du 19e siècle lorsqu’elle fut rénovée suite à un incendie.

I can’t help but marvel how many of our prominent buildings have been destroyed or transformed due to fire. I suspect it’s due to the fact that we are an old city that has to burn things like crazy to stay warm in the winter. Factor in all-wood structures, a lack of fire codes back then, and voila.
Or owner arson.
