apparently this place has really good burgers but i’ve yet to try it out
Heh that place is dirty smelly and repulsive and YET I can’t help but order me some cheeseburgers and poutine from that place. Awesome.
I’ve never been tempted (considering the choice of yummy good food hereabouts – mmmm Chez Apo) but I’ve always thought this back-alley entrance would make a great film shot.
On St-Denis (and the alley between St-Denis and St-Vallier) just south of Jean-Talon, Épicerie Orientale also has a back-alley public entrance.
Another famous kitschy Villeray landmark is the Miss Villeray bar-salon, but I believe the current sign is a new one, very similar to the original.
What is the exact address? I would like to check it out when me and my brother visit in August. Thank you.
James – I don’t know the exact address, but if you go to the corner of Jean-talon and Saint-André and look north, its hard to miss. Or phone the number on the sign (visible in the photo above). I’m sure they’ll tell ya.
