  1. Why was this building torn down? It looks a lot like the kind of buildings one might see in England/Scotland.

  2. I believe that it had become a menace, structurally speaking, which prompted the decision to tear it down (and replace it with… a parking lot!? sheesh!). There was some interest in saving and restoring it but I think that it was too far gone to do anything about it with a reasonable amount of funds.

  3. yeah i dont understand why that building was torn down. i always liked it….and it was removed recently… not some stupid mistake done in the 70’s. …why???? …if you watch the movie ‘the score’ starring robert deniro, edward nortan, angela besett and marlon brandon. the film take place in montreal, and theirs a great scene buy then end with that building in the background (it was turned into a station centrale for buses in the film)

  4. I used to pass this building often, and was always saddened that it was just left there, alone….purposeless.

Now I’m even more mortified to find out that it’s been torn down. WTF?

  5. oh weird! i distinctly remember that building from my early childhood – crap for it taking the ball :(

  6. What a shame they torn down this building, I visited Montreal in 2002 and was totally Intrigued with this building, i took pictures and have been searching on info about it for years! Well now I know….what a waste to make room for a stupid parking lot!!
