Holy Mountain is an interactive web project that arose out of 2 people contemplating the spiritual bonds that link Montrealers to Mount Royal. Media makers Hélène de Billy and Gilbert Duclos have put together a series of vignettes that explore people’s relationship to the sacred, including The Ghost of Jimi Hendrix, The Canonization of a Brother and The Ten Commandments With Serge Bouchard.
The project also incorporates some fun little details – there’s a voice mailbox where people can record their own stories and memories involving The Mountain, and the homepage always displays the current weather in the city.
The project was originally conceived in French, but all the web docs are subtitled in English. So take a tour of Montreal’s Holy Mountain – there’s a lot to explore.
