Moshe Safdie’s Habitat 67 may have received the world’s highest architectural honour. The distinctive Montreal landmark won LEGO Architecture’s online competition for the next building to be immortalized in LEGO. While the win doesn’t secure Habitat’s LEGOization completely, it does bring the modular building one step closer. (Architizer)

Et s’il s’était construit d’autres Habitat 67 Montréal aurait plus fière allure aujourd’hui. J’imagine qu’on a cru bon conserver cet immeuble après l’Expo 67 parce qu’il représentait un chef-d’oeuvre de l’architecture. 40 ans plus tard, il ne s’est toujours rien construit d’aussi audacieux à Montréal et malgré que Montréal ait été nommée ville du design, je ne vois pas le jour où de telles constructions jailliront du décor. Ville du design peut-êtrre mais pas de l’architecture ça c’est certain. Que nos élus et décideurs manquent de folie et d’audace…
