1. What happened to those beautiful window frames ? Far too many of these windows, almost all of which, can, and should be preserved in place are thrown out in the false name of conservation of energy.
   Intelligent weatherstripping of sash, maintenance of glazing putty or wood strips and intelligent painting allow such windows to outperform replacement windows at a fraction of replacement costs.
