2. I never liked the material on this roof all that much. It should probably be entirely made of copper.

   Neath, I believe the plan for the area calls for some 20 storey buildings in the vicinity of this one but not in it. No need to get your knickers in a knot.

3. are you sure that pic was taken in 1895? wasn’t there a really nice public garden right infront of the hotel at that time? and i’m not talking about the one across the street. it used to be where the street is now.

4. yes i’m sure! Take a look at the horse carriage and the street cover by stones.

6. Does anyone know what are the plans for this ex-railway hotel? It is very interesting, in that sort of chateau-esque style. I think the roof was once slate-and-copper, not asphault tile, as it now appears to be. It also looks to be falling in and in a vulnerable state at present…

7. For those that are interested, the last passenger train to operate out of the adjacent CPR Place Viger Station ( once located to the right in the photo ) was in 1951.

   After that time, CPR passenger servicewas from Windsor Station on Windsor/Peel.

   In the thirties, my Grandfather worked at the Place Viger Refrigerated Warehouse which was to the East of the Hotel/Station.

I WISH ONE DAY THEY COULD MAKE A NICE HOTEL BECAUSE EVERYDAY THAT I PASS IN FROM OF THIS BIG CASTLE AND SEE THAT IT CLOSE AND MAKES ME SAD BECAUSE IT S SUCH A NICE PLACE AND SO MUCH STORIES ABOUT IT THAT MAKES ME SAD THAT SEE IT CLOSE IF SOMEONE COULD MAKE THAT BIG CASTLE AND EXTREMELY NICE HOTEL IN OLD ROYAUTY FASHION AND BIG BALLROOM INSIDE WOULD BE BEAUTIFUL AND MAGIQUE FOR ME BUT I DON T KNOW IF IT BELONG TO THE CITY OR SOMEONE WHO DOESN T TAKE CARE OF IT AND REBUILT INSIDE IT A SHAME IF I WAS???I WOULD DO IT BUT I M NOT MAYBE ONLY A GIRL WHO S DREAMING MAYBE??? WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT IT???CAN IT BE POSSIBLE!!!!AND KEEPING THE SAME SHAPE OF THE CASTLE !!!
