St Patrick’s Day Parade Tomorrow at noon!

Read more articles by

Here are a few images that capture the spirit of mêlé and madness from past St-Patty’s day parades in Montreal. The parade is this Sunday at 12 noon, starting from Ste-Catherine and du Fort.  All photos by Tristan Brand, used with permission.

I’m the one dancing on the sidelines in red mittens.

If you’re going to make us chuck out our beer, can we at least have a nice pose? Thanks guys!

  1. Please. It’s not St. Patty (let alone St-Patty). Men called Patrick aren’t called Patty, are they? It’s Paddy if you must shorten it.

Maybe I’m fighting a losing battle here, but my Irish ancestors rise up and make me do it.

  2. I was going to say the same thing :P. And I am not Irish! See you at the parade! :)

  3. thanks for posting the pics. i’m so excited for tomorrow. it’s my first st. patrick’s parade!

  4. It was fun. Ste Catherine is a mess now though, and I predict it will remain like that for a few weeks…

  5. That was a blast and every second person had a drink in their hand, myself included. (maybe they didn’t like your red mittens Alanah!)

There was an army of can/bottle collectors MontrealGuy and the City followed up with a whack of street suckers and sweepers.

This marks the opening round of festival season!

  6. Amazing that you got cops to pose for photos! They usually go nuts when cameras are pointed at them.

  7. They never go nuts with me Tux. Maybe you look weird or act defensive :P
