Navigating the world’s largest subway system is no easy task. With 468 stations, hundreds of kilometers of track, and more than 1.5 billion rides annually, it’s no wonder New York is looking to help passengers find their way around.
Coming this summer, to help riders along, are 120 underground wayfinding kiosks. The interactive kiosks — built with an indestructible (but not graffiti proof) touchscreen glass — will show users specific routes, police investigations, and disruptions.
While the kiosks are not in use, advertisements will fill screen.
Designed by Antenna Design the kiosks will be called “On the Go!” and replace some of the current subway poster maps in the system.
