Regarding the ad on the side of the building, there’s currently an anti-smoking ad (for stupid.ca) plastered to the sides of many a bus, actually implicating the riders in the same manner as the ad described. It’s kinda… dumb.
While I do technically agree with the use of clearly-labeled temporary CCTV for Caribana (there’s thugs who cause trouble at it every year), the trouble’s just going to move outside the range of the cameras.
Another recent article in the Globe that people might find interesting — about the car-free downtown core of Montpellier, France.
I took two cabs in the last week and both had the A/C off and windows open. I think they should have the right to keep it off but with this wicked heat I was hoping they would have been on and was disappointed to have to sweat it out.
On to more important matters… Today, for the first time, I saw advertisements on the subway doors. Two sets of outside doors on the subway were covered in 7-Up ads. It was so offensive. I cringe at the thought of all of the doors being covered in ads. Enough is enough. Is our entire city for sale?
