Thirty-four magazines have been named finalists for the sixth annual Canadian Newsstand Awards, and Spacing’s Fall 2006 issue was one of them. We find ourselves in the small magazine category up against our friends at Maisonneuve and This, and the Vancouver-based Western Sportsman. Newsstand awards are based 50% on sale figures and 50% on a number of different design issues. Spacing was a finalist last year, so we’re crossing our fingers this time around.

The magazine winners, one in each of five categories, plus the overall best Newsstand Cover of the Year will be announced Tuesday, June 5 at the industry conference Magazines University.
