2. Hey, I liked these too, and they looked familiar, so I did a little checking for you.

   A quick search for “Alva P Taylor Hall” revealed the first mural to be in Chico, CA, the work of artist John Pugh. Sure enough, Pugh’s website (www.illusion-art.com) revealed the second mural to also be his work, found in Los Gatos, CA.

3. There’s a trompe-l’oeil mural on the Flatiron Building. Maybe someone will start up a trompe-l’oeil gallery in these pages.

4. Thanks for the research. I did a search too but couldn’t make out the “alva” part.

5. California has one of the most extensive statewide mural programs. Their overpasses were getting completely blanketed with ugly graffiti and they actually did the right thing: ask artists to paint murals on public infrastructure. Some of them are graffiti-style, others are “amateur mural” style, but supposedly the world’s longest mural came out of this program.
