Re: the College St. article, it almost seems like there should be a place in the city where nightlife is free of restrictions and there aren’t many residential units…
Oh, right. We can’t have that either.
Re: Tourism zone, I would say that “concern” is different from “envy.” Let the suburbs whine 🙂
did anybody hear that there was a shooting on gerrard st near broadview???Without being insensitive the great mayor miller has asked all of you to go shopping in the area as if nothing happened.Go to dinner,go shopping show that you care. But let’s not forget this is the second death this year of an innocent who was “in the wrong place at the wrong time”.So I ask, where in this city is it to be in the right place at the right time?
Let’s give some thought to the family who no longer has a father.A family who moved to canada less than two years ago to find a better life as many of our parents did many years ago.Tell these politicians to stop the opportunism and the crass desire to be in the spotlight, and ask them to not only be more sensitive, but show leadership and vigilance and start doing what they were elected to do.Sitting in city hall and twiddling the thumbs doesn’t do it anymore!
George takes every opportunity to smash city hall, esp. Miller & Co.
And he somehow uses a death to smash city hall while in the same breath decrying politicians who use the opportunity to speak out on the subject. Can George spell hypocrite?
And for god’s sake, Miller and no politician can stop murders. Put the responsibility of those actions squarely on those who committed them.
Bike racks, great idea IF you go downtown every day, it’s like the lockers, you need to pay longer term, there is nothing for the one time or rare user. I would love to be able to ride downtown, lock up my bike at a theft proof facility, then walk around, and do stuff, knowing my bike will be there when I get back.
Actually good locations for one-off racks/lockers would be places like subway stations, Eaton Centre, St Lawrence Market etc……
That vanity plate article was pathetic considering that the city has continued to use the old plates and considering the original purpose was reasonable.
Oh, and George, what should they do? Because I can’t just tell them to do something, without specifying what. That just wouldn’t work.
Those lockers sound perfect for people who commute downtown by GO Train, and then want to cycle from Union station to their workplace. They would want a secure place to keep their bike there because they are going to leave it there nights and weekends.
