From : ” Council told to brag about low property taxes “;
And city councillors “should blow [their] horn about it,” Ms. Lindsay Luby told the meeting, which approved the city’s $8-billion budget that will go to council next month
…………….
Since this was done on the backs of the non-residential class (included renters)They should also take credit for the nearly two decades of stagnant employment in the city. While the 905 area created over 800,000 jobs Toronto lost 100,000. IMO this policy helped fuel the growth of the 905 region, adding to sprawl.
Toronto’s low residential taxes are not symbolic of financial prudence but of having other people pay the bills.
I wonder when will David Miller abandon ship to run for the Liberals federally.Obviously the mess at city hall will be too hot to handle very soon.
But fooling people about their property tax bills will not go unnoticed by the public for too long.I still remember when Olivia Chow ditched to go federal.
