Let’s round out our week in Markham with a look at the construction of the St. Mark’s Coptic Christian cathedral along Steeles near Warden, just east of the big IBM campus. That’s a lot of concrete. They held a design competition about 10 years ago, but according to Urban Toronto, plans for an urban village fell through. Still, quite a sight along Steeles. You might see it on your way to Pacific Mall. Pacific Mall? Ok bonus shot for friday below: the main “square” at the mall has an Olympic Viewing area set up. Was quite a busy place last Sunday.
