What: Toronto Talks: The Future of Our City
Where: Harbourfront Centre
When: Wed, February 20th, 7:30pm
The imminent future of Toronto is the heart of discussion at tonight’s Toronto Talks: The Future of Our City at the Harbourfront Centre.
The event will feature guest-speaking authors Edward Keenan, who showcases Toronto’s innovation through so many mayors in Some Great Idea Good Neighbourhoods: Crazy Politics and the Invention of Toronto, and Ivor Tossell’s The Gift of Ford, that chronicles how Mayor Ford rose to power, and how his tenure spurred Torontonians.
The community has the opportunity to gather together to talk about current city politics, city-planning in Toronto, and the future of the community’s parks and recreation
The authors will be examining Toronto streets and have a few hand picked guest speakers to talk about neighbourhood culture, housing and building better communities. They also plan to examine how projects have, or not haven’t, worked with City Hall.
Diasporic Genius, Options for Homes, Toronto Sport & Social Club and Xtreme Labs will be showing their plans for improving Toronto to attendees.
Following the presentations the authors will be discussing ideas to find common strategies in order to build better cities, and how lessons they have learned could help groups and individuals guide policy at Toronto City Hall.
Tickets are $10 or free for members, students, and youth.

my friends and I love to attend these sort of events but it would be great if Spacing.ca posted up events more than a day in advance. So we can plan according.
