A helpful stencil artist is making it easier for you to get your bearings after leaving the subway — someone has been spray painting directional arrows on the sidewalk just outside TTC exits. I noticed one today at King Station on my way home from work, and just now at two of the Spadina Station exits.

This is a brilliant idea.
When they re-did some of the street furnishings on Wellesley Street, they embedded a bronze direction indicator just outside the doors of the subway exit. Yes, it’s brilliant and helpful, though not everyone orients themselves by NSEW.
There’s one of those bronze things outside Bathurst station, too.
I aways feel a little off when i loose my NSEW orientation. It’s a fun feeling for a bit, but unsettling.
